Session: Building Prometheus Interoperability in OpenTelemetry
OpenTelemetry is a popular open source, cloud-native observability framework with more than 900 active contributors from over 200 organizations. OpenTelemetry components and libraries can be used to instrument, generate, collect, and export telemetry data for analysis to understand your application and infrastructure performance and behavior. OpenTelemetry rolled out trace data stability earlier this year. Now project maintainers are working towards achieving metrics support stability. The OpenTelemetry data model and components including the Collector and language libraries are being enhanced to ensure full interoperability with Prometheus, a monitoring system popularly used for Kubernetes applications and infrastructure. Join in for my talk to learn about what we’re building to provide full metrics interoperability with Prometheus.
