We’re thrilled to announce the 2021 poster design!

For those of you familiar with ATO you know this – we love art and a large portion of our community feels the same way.

As a result, we go out of our way to make a poster available each year that truly is art, and is something everyone will be proud to hang on their wall and/or keep for a long time.

The 2021 DESIGN

The basis of the 2021 poster design is pretty simple – it’s a compilation of each astro featured on the website, which numbers 6 in total. We explain the idea behind the 6 astros and the overall theme here, but suffice to say a lot of thought went into the design of each one. We feel the 6 together as a cohesive unit results in an extremely “cool” effect. You’ll also notice the backgrounds of the side-by-side images “fit” together, which in our opinion serves as an “easter egg” effect.

In addition, we will again include a message on the back of the poster specific to the year in which it was created/produced (2021) and the overall event theme (Evolution). As everyone knows, it’s been quite a year with many challenges, but we’re working our way back, together.

Emerging from the chaos that was 2020, the ATO and open source communities are moving toward a new normal together, as we always have. We’re taking the lessons of the past year-and-a-half and building a new future that can be better than anything that came before it. While full of challenges, we believe this “evolution” will result in improved technology, a stronger sense of community, and a renewed sense of optimism. However, there are no shortcuts. It is up to us to make it happen.  

HOW THEY’LL BE DISTRIBUTED

We’ll once again distribute free posters at the event in October and we’ll make two (2) versions available:

• A 24×36 poster, which will include all 6 astros in the same design. We’ll make a limited number of these available on Sunday, October 17 (at the same time as the t-shirt giveaway) and on Monday, October 18 and Tuesday, October 19 at the conference. These will be free, and again, they will be limited in number. 

• Multiple 12×12 individual astros. Basically, each of the individual astros on the poster will serve as its own 12×12 poster and will be distributed free of charge. These will be distributed Sunday, October 17 (during the t-shirt giveaway) and at the conference on Monday and Tuesday. 

WHEN THEY’LL BE DISTRIBUTED 

We’ll make free posters, both the 24×36 and the individual 12×12’s, available on Sunday, October 17 at the Convention Center starting at 12 noon ET. We’ll have a distribution table set up outside on the patio by the front entrance – anyone registered (for either virtual or in-person) can pick one up there. We’ll be giving away t-shirts in the same location as well. *Please note, available poster quantities are limited, so anyone interested should arrive as early as possible. 

In addition to Sunday, October 17, we’ll give away a number of 24×36 and 12×12’s at the event on Monday, October 18 and Tuesday, October 19 each afternoon. These will be given away inside the Convention Center, unlike distribution on Sunday, October 17.  

WANT A POSTER GUARANTEED?

For those that want to be guaranteed of receiving a poster we do have a VIP 1 option available for $69 USD and a VIP 2 option available for $139 USD. The VIP 1 includes the 2021 t-shirt or a poster – the VIP 2 includes the 2021 t-shirt and the poster.
