A longtime software engineer, Pete is passionate about building Distributed Systems that leverage Open Source technologies and Public Cloud. In his current role as Head of Platform Engineering and Cloud Enablement for Fidelity Investments’ personal investing business, Pete leads a global team that utilizes CNCF projects to support millions of customers. Previously, as Chief Solutions Architect for Capital One, Pete brought software-based concepts into corporate cloud management and contributed to the ideology for a leading Open Source Cloud Security, Governance and Management tool, currently a CNCF Sandbox project. Pete’s expertise with Open Source implementation comes from over 20 years using OS solutions to solve complex challenges ranging from National Missile Defense to scientific applications including Neuroscience and DNA Sequence Analysis with the Human Genome Project. He’s the recipient of the 2006 JBoss Innovation Award for Clustering Technologies.
