Adam Newman ([email protected]) is IEEE-ISTO Chief Operating Officer and IEEE Standards Association Sr. Director of Innovation Development & Operations

Mr. Newman has more than 30 years industry experience developing standards and managing business related to technology development. He is the Chief Operating Officer of the IEEE Industry Standards Technology Organization (ISTO) a corporation founded by the IEEE to foster industry standards technology development as a federation of independent alliances and consortia. He is also currently responsible for developing and diversifying the business and products of the IEEE Standards Association and the operations of its Alliance Management, Open Source, Registry & Conformity Assessment businesses. He is an in demand speaker on technical standards and their usage and the evolution of standards delivery and implementation. From his prior work, he is an expert in network interconnection, naming numbering and addressing as well as telephone number portability, and he holds a patent in that area. He has also provided testimony at United States (US) Congressional Committee and Sub-Committee level and has been a frequent presenter at the US FCC. Adam studied mechanical engineering at Lehigh University has a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from Temple University as well as a Bell Communications Research/Stevens MBA certificate.
