Nominations Now Open – Major League Hacking OS Awards

Among the many new things we’re doing this year is a new relationship, and two new resulting initiatives.

While we’ll announce the second of these initiatives in a week or so, we’d like to start with the first – the Major League Hacking Open Source Awards.

Our friends at Major League Hacking are recognizing open source leaders at the conference this year in October, and nominations are now open.

About the Awards

The MLH Open Source Awards are about recognizing and celebrating extraordinary achievements and contributions of individuals, teams and organizations to open source.Any individual, group, organization or initiative that has contributed to open source or worked on an open source project is eligible to be nominated for an Open Source Award. Some examples might be corporate Open Source Programs offices, independent project maintainers, or even programs or organizations that support a variety of open source projects. Nominations are unlimited and open to the general public. A panel of industry experts will choose the final winners.

Why We Love This Relationship

As previously stated, our relationship with Major League Hacking is a new one. However, we’ve watched what they’ve done from afar for a while and we’ve been thoroughly impressed. They power the world’s largest community of early career developers learning hard and soft skills that they’ll need to get a job in the industry. Over the years, more than 500,000 technologists have gone through their programs like hackathons, workshops, conferences, and a flagship 12-week Fellowship working on Open Source! And perhaps most importantly, they’re a Certified B Corp, just like we are.
